Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Clerk to join our finance team in Sacramento, CA. This role supports day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, data entry, and financial record maintenance. The Accounting Clerk plays a key role in ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in our financial processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Enter and maintain accurate financial data in accounting systems
- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Prepare and process invoices, expense reports, and payments
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation
- Respond to internal and external accounting-related inquiries
- Support audits by providing requested reports and documentation
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Preferred:
- Associate's degree or coursework in Accounting or Finance
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle)
- Prior experience in a fast-paced or high-volume environment
